POLL | Monthly or bi-monthly app cycles?

THIS SURE IS ANOTHER POLL GUYS. I swear I'm on hiatus, really. I just have a lot of plans, okay. Plans that, if I don't try to take care of now, I'll goldfish 'em and forget them forever. AND TRUST ME THAT IS PRETTY MUCH THE LAST THING WE WANT.

This poll is regarding: frequency of app cycles. What we are proposing is that we go from having apps open bi-monthly (twice a month, every other week) to, instead, opening only once a month, for the duration of a week (probably the final week in each month, but that is up for change).

The reason for doing so would be to cut down on the IC and OOC introductions that we get now that we're growing larger and larger as a game! That way, we as a playerbase are able to focus more on tagging new things and are able to give all of our new players the attention they deserve; additionally, it makes it easier for us to roll our major plots and involve all of our players and characters! For example, we won't have to worry about apps opening during a major plot, and players coming in without an opportunity to get involved (which has happened several unfortunate times).

Also, definitely leave feedback on this post too if you have any suggestions or ideas for ways to tweak the application cycle so that we can: stagger our IC/OOC intro floods, still accept our awesome growth, and include all our new players in our plots when they span great lengths of time. That's the general goal here! c:

This may already have been suggested (I admit I haven't looked at the suggestions post unscreened comments or the faq any time lately) but have we considered doing a regular log event like the first one in Exsilium when everyone was transported in, for every wave of new app/acceptances? It might cut down on the new post flooding, maybe. The Initiative could make attendance mandatory for current characters, or provide a monetary incentive to attend, or something.

That actually hasn't yet been suggested! I'd considered it before but wasn't sure we'd had enough characters at the time, and then it kind of slipped my mind. But yes, this is a great idea—I'll make a note of it too!

Yeah, I don't think we had enough characters to justify it or make it work well until the past couple of months. I remember it worked well in the initial event, though!

this kind of happens in ataraxion, which really does encourage people to tag out / get all those pesky intro things out of the way. it really does cut down the flood of intro posts, too.
