The New Transport log is up! This month we have a slight change, though. We'd like to ask the players of current characters to please keep your root comments confined to the various groups and organizations that set up root comments to greet new characters.

We highly encourage tagging around here, but since it's a log meant for new characters specifically, we ask that they be the ones to set up root threads to the entry. This is mostly so that when they're accepted, new characters aren't automatically pushed onto the 2nd and 3rd pages of the log. They're supposed to be the highlight of this log, after all!

Additionally, we encourage groups, stands, or anything catering to the new arrivals to have threads! Threads like that are fantastic, and give people a little extra structure to work with. Please comment to this entry if you would like a mod comment to set up your group's thread, using the form provided. That won't apply to this month's log, this month groups are welcome to comment anywhere they like. We'll make use of this system for next month, using anyone signed up on this page.

Hey all,

I'm sorry to have to say this but, for all the reasons Ang said a couple of posts ago, I'm going to be bowing out and riding off into the sunset. This game was a blast while it lasted and I adore all the awesome CR I made but I'm just not feeling the game vibe anymore and I'm going to stick to museboxes and memes for a while.

This means Claudia acts_of_claudia, Nathan thats_brutal and Scully itsnotaliens are all going home.

Claudia has 2 UE drives in her possession that she's likely finished decrypting at this point if any of her roommates want to find them.

Thanks for everything, guys. It's been real. I'm still on Plurk as eternalferret if anyone wants to add me. If anyone just had me for game purposes and wants to drop me that's cool, too. No hard feelings and all that jazz.

Hello, Exsilium. Not a lot of you know me, and that's my fault for a number of reasons. I loved the prospect of this game, the setting, the whole shebang, and those of you I have played with are lovely, fantastic people who made me feel very welcome. However, between the sudden change in setting and a number of RL factors eating up my free time, I don't feel as though I can keep up here, anymore, low AC check aside.

As such, Mulder, Charles and Artie will be going home at the end of the month. I am still around on Plurk and Tumblr as "chartharsis" for those of you who wish to add/keep me around, and I have a joint musebox over at burrow_box that's still being made ready for happy fun All The Muses time. You are all welcome there whenever you wish.

 Sorry, guys.  Work got new filters that block all journal sites, and then travel and illness ganged up to completely annihilate any chance I had of keeping up.  You guys are awesome and this game is beyond cool, wish I could stay but I'm totally unable to.  Someday perhaps I shall have a smartphone and the ability to tag anywhere I damn well want.  Until then, Ibin's going should be quite painless-- he really has nothing anyone would want anyway.  Stay gold, Exsilium.

Dear Exsilium,
We come to you today in search of mods! We’re looking for two types of mod, specifically. We would like to add one or two people to the list mods, who upkeep pages like player contact and the taken list, and generally keep Exsilium moving smoothly from behind the scenes. It’s a glamorous job (a lie), full of fame and money (a bigger lie), and list mods get exclusive rights to firsthand witnessing of Ishmael and Liz going slowly insane (unfortunately not a lie)! But more seriously, this job involves updating the Taken Page about once a week, and routinely cleaning out the tags monthly, among other possible jobs.

If you’re interested in this, first off, we adore you. Seriously, thank you! It’s not always easy keeping a game of this size running, but with people willing to help keeping our various maintenance pages trim and current, we can focus on bringing you plots and events that keep the game moving. So, seriously, we really really appreciate the help!

We’re also looking for a third head mod to help us out with things, and this job is a bit trickier. As a head mod with Ishmael and Liz, your duties would include:
• Keeping up with and recording changes in the game resulting from plots and missions (including minor changes from personal missions)
• Handling player conflicts
• Helping to plan and run plots
• Answering plot questions
• Scheduling and accommodating player plots
• Dancing the silly chicken dance at least once a week with Ishmael.

Everything but the first and the last task would be done in tandem with us, it’s really just the "recording changes" job that is large enough as to demand we add a wholly new head mod to our team. We’re looking for someone that’s dedicated, responsible, and reliable above all else. It’s a big job, but we love doing it, and hope you will too!

RIGHT OKAY SORRY. Stanley is getting a canon bump! As you can see by Peter's post, which made it up first. My bad. I will edit with details in just a sec, just wanted to get this up here so it's official.

Starting on the 28th, Stanley will be gone a few days. He left Peace with Tempest and Peter when he went to take a piss and got sucker punched by the magic whim wham into his old life. So, there's a very miserable toddler probably screaming her head off throughout the moon base. He's sorry, really...

And he'll be back for zombie day, yay?

Edit: The basic reason for the bump is that Stanley's aware now his friends aren't dead, so there's something hopeful for him that he didn't have before. Also, he's more emotionally available, within certain limits that won't affect most people much, so basically all good news. Also since the British version of Cadie is showing up, I needed him to know more about her. And here is that info, C&P'd, but keep in mind that Cassie, the girl who is apping in, is slightly different than Cadie. So this is just in general, it's not 100% accurate to Cassie, for her information you'll want to read her application.

...If anyone else is interested in tiny teenager dramas for some reason, anyway. (Save yourselves.)

y hello there exsilium! this is just a quick note that due to some family issues + me being out of town I will be on full hiatus until Monday and thus slow/nonexistent until then. i so apologize to anyone with outstanding threads with me, but i'm planning to pick up everything again upon my return unless anyone would rather handwave! you can reach me by PM as i'll probably be pretty scarce even on plurk until the the 28th.

HELLO EXSILIUM! In honor of the CR meme going up tonight I have another opportunity to propose. If you want to get instant CR with someone newly introduced but will have too much zombie killing happening to tag the intro log, read on!

Kanaya here has recently gained a position in the Department of Initiative-Transport Relations (DITR) as an Assistant on account of her volunteering to coordinate a program pairing new arrivals with seasoned Transports starting this November to facilitate group missions. Read some reasons why this is a good idea in universe below:

• The current situation with the United Earth is dire, with the end of 3313 being the longest there's no risk of a lunar skirmish. Ideally as many transports should be engaged at once as possible.
• Sending transports alone has always been rarer than groups, however. With the Aristeas system not functioning, a Transport could go into the past alone, die, and have no way at all of informing the Initiative.
• This threatens both new and old Transports who lack traveling companions. Old transports' connections may be sent home at any time, while new transports often arrive literally alone in a universe of full strangers.
• Due to the lack of discrimination on the Transporter's part, new Transports may lack safety skills entirely, rendering them especially vulnerable.
• In general, the universe of Exsilium is novel to Transports by definition, and mentorship has its own benefits.

In keeping with the spirit of the moonbase, we would prefer to keep veteran signups IC voluntary to an extent! (Someone else bringing up your character's name works in a pinch.) There are plenty of ways to have heard of this, such as the DITR post or the Town Hall Meeting. Pairups will be made with Kanaya, anyone who shows interest in helping her, and the aid of a computer program, which DITR liaison Sollux will write. (OOC I will be using discretion, possibly a random number generator, and whatever notes you write in your form, the last of which will be attributed to the interference of the computer program.)

Given the presence of zombies, the plan is to put up a post on the network by November 5th and have pairings formulated by November 7th. If you're interested, whether as a long-standing player or looking to app a new character, feel free to fill out either of the following forms below (you may wish to put VETERAN or NEWBIE in the subject line for maximum clarity):

You don't have to write a novel here but the more information you give, the better your matchup will be! A matchup is all you will receive from this post; any resulting missions will need to be conceived by your characters and written by you. Even whether your character is listed as a veteran or a newbie is up to you! There's a lot of range between someone who's taken thirty days to put their ear to the ground and get as integrated with the Initiative as possible, and a relatively recent arrival still struggling to get on their feet after a single month.

Whoops I meant to put this up earlier, my bad. This upcoming Saturday is app_this_plz, and I accidentally volunteered myself to organize it because that's what I do with my life. We are using the same handy-dandy form as last month because that made things so much easier for me to manage. I will add things up until about ten minutes before ATP is supposed to go up (7 EST) and then nothing will get added until I can edit my comment as I obsessively refresh to get us a page-one spot.
