MODPOST: STUFF IS STILL HAPPENING, BUT NOW IT'S HAPPENING MORE

NOTICE: Civilians are going to be showing similar signs of affliction many characters currently have; there will be semi-transparent people, fainting people, people looking downright agonized, overgrown hair/nails/grandparents way younger than grandkids, etc.

Tension is reaching a boiling point, needless to say. As of this posting, please acknowledge this heightened state of distress from the general public. People will lash out at you for help or harm if hysterical enough. Many people blame you, recruits, for causing these problems.

You may even find a vendor/employee here or there within the Hold unwilling to accommodate you. Maybe the janitor spits on your shoes as you pass by. These will not be as frequent as the average civilians themselves, as Initiative employees ought to know better (you'd THINK...).

Watch your backs out there. Shit is painfully close to the fan blades at this point.

I have a question I've been meaning to ask that is...sort of related I think.

In the marketplace, is it possible to say, steal food? And if so, if someone got caught (especially right now...with everything going on), how much trouble would they get in, if any/could they feasibly escape somewhere safely?

Hello! (Sorry this is kind of late; fambly functions.........BUT ANYWAY)

I would say it's possible! But more likely with open-air foods like fruits and veggies – things not wrapped/bagged with bar codes or sensors. Those getting scanned through as they leave would set off an alarm!

And I would say the level of consequence is something you can play by ear, given not every Initiative employee is pissed off at the recruits, but will be exasperated with the mounting chaos. There is a chance they'd try to get security to hunt your character down, but even then...consider whether or not security would give a damn enough to scold someone for jacking bananas when there's bigger fish to fry. (And even then, what if that's the straw that breaks a particular camel's back and some security guy DOES fail to let it go!)

And yes, they could escape or at least stay out of sight long enough for bigger things to take the attention of said dogged security guys!
