PLOT RESULTS: UE AI INVESTIGATION

This post is for collecting the results of those teams who went out on the missions to find out about the UE AI as detailed here.

The set up of this will be pretty simple! There will be a form below to fill out, and each group will receive its own comment to reply to. Each group needs to have one person from it fill out the form and reply to the appropriate comment with it.

And that's it! You do not need to have completed the log to reply here, simply have an idea of what you plan to fail and succeed in. The sooner we receive these results, the better!

Should you have any further questions or clarifications you need resolved, comment right here.

Group Members: Charlie Cutter, Chloe Frazer, Victor Sullivan and Nathan Drake
Mission Prompt: MISSION DATE 2780: RAGING AGAINST THE MACHINE AND PARTY ALL THE TIME
Detail Successes/Failures Here:
• Acquired a copy of Brave New World (which Charlie wrinkled his nose over as if the UE is going to base their politics off a novel, they could do better than Huxley). Successful in lots of shit talking and rubbing elbows with the natives (despite the fact that all four of them are probably mostly ten to fifteen years older - drunk people are bad at gauging or caring about that kind of thing)
• Successfully retrieved a few (unsterilized) data chips from the tent where they were being removed.
• Successfully acquired copies of lyrics from ten songs (and three sets of guitar tabs)
• They failed to plug the AI into the A/V system because they're idiots
• They did however successfully steal a handheld tablet off a cop
Extraneous: Nathan Drake punched more cops than any one man should have any business with. Charlie punches something like half that (and accidentally elbows some poor kid in the face).

Group Members: Altaïr, Maria
Mission Prompt: MISSION DATE 2893: IN PRISON, BREAKING BAD GUYS / JULY 24TH, 2893.
Detail Successes/Failures Here: T'll successfully get out of the cell, rough up some security guards, plug the AI & scan data in the guard terminals BUT fail at getting anything from the lab sub-levels. If they make it down there at all they'll have to flee soon after.

Group Members: Gin Ichimaru and Rin Asano!
Mission Prompt: MISSION DATE 3000: SHOULD OLD ACQUAINTANCES BE BLOWN UP? January 1st, 3000(they left on the 15th of January in the present day for it) and it’s right here!
Detail Successes/Failures Here:
Plugging the AI into terminals will go fine! They had plenty of opportunities and were sneaky enough to pull it off without drawing attention. We’ll say about five different locations.
They also snagged a few rebels and tried to make them talk about them trying to start up the riots; at first they had a lot of difficulty with it, so eventually Gin turned to more hostile interrogative methods, but Rin stopped him before it could get too in-depth in terms of physical torture. After this the rebels were probably a lot easier to crack simply through fear of what that snake eyed dude might do to them if they didn’t cooperate, and told them everything.
Extraneous:
Petty theft! They kept snagging food randomly and didn’t get caught but might be worth mentioning anyway. Maybe that bag of jelly beans could have grown up to be president I don’t know.
Also as mentioned before, Gin did go full creepy psycho on the rebels they interrogated and may have freaked them the fuck out. He didn’t do any lasting physical damage because Rin stopped him, but mentally they probably got pretty badly shaken by the experience.

Group Members: Steph Brown, Saul Goodman, Belle, Mr. Gold
Mission Prompt: Mission date 2967: Ghosts of Corporate Past
Detail Successes/Failures Here: They stole/took photos of any documents left lying around, and managed to get into the computer terminals in the utility rooms, although they only got about 80% of available data before they were rudely interrupted by soldiers. They also grabbed one of the guard's helmets and brought it back.
Extraneous: Nothing that would have reached public attention, I don't think! They defeated the first round of guards before returning home so if that... would have altered anything idk.

Group Members: Rosette, Maya, Chrono, and Francœur
Mission Prompt:
Date: 2744
Name: Tales from the Post-Impressionist Crypt
Link: here!

Detail Successes/Failures Here: Success: Gathering data from the incinerator's computer OS and artwork viewing / photographing.

Failures: Obtaining a security drone.

Extraneous: Nothing planned, will update if this changes in the near future.

Addendum: Would a mission-relevant song parody to the tune of The Little Mermaid's Part of Your World do? Optional: picture a giant monster flea dancing and singing this in a ridiculously high-pitched voice.

Look at their stuff, isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think their collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think they're the ones
The ones who have everything?
Look at this hoard, artworks unsold
How many paintings can one building hold?
Looking around here you'd think
Hey, those alarms beep
They're got sentries flying aplenty
Who've got lasers and sharp blades galore
You want exploding bombs? They've got twenty
But they're small
No big deal
Wait- here comes more
I want to be far away from here
I want to get want to get to safety
Take the data and I'll take...What's your name? Oh, Maya
Fighting them off won't get us far
They've got the numbers for hunting, swarming
They won't stop 'till we're red with... What's that word again? Gore
Up where they fly
Up where they stun
Up where they'll shoot you down with a gun
Violence obscene, wish we could be
Out of their world

What would I give if I could live
Out of this hellhole
What would I pay to send her away
Safe and grand
In my dreamland, they understand
Wouldn't have sent these kids to the slaughter
Sweet young children, fighting villains?
That's really your plan?
I'm ready to go where Rosette will go
We'll take some drawings and get some tasers
What's a phaser and why does it... ohmygod it HUUUURTS!
When can we run? Wouldn't they come
Come to destroy the lives that we love
Someone may bleed
Wish we could be
Out of this world

Re: MISSION DATE 2862: FORGET NEMO IT'S NOT WORTH IT

[personal profile] pactfulfilled 2014-01-30 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Group Members: Asbel Lhant, Cheria Barnes, Pascal, Anise Tatlin, Emil Castagnier, Maya Fey, Chrysos Kineas

Mission Prompt: June 11, 2862 / MISSION DATE 2862: FORGET NEMO IT'S NOT WORTH IT / Link!

Detail Successes/Failures Here: The group arrives in one of the connecting tunnels and opts to split into smaller teams to reduce the risk of detection.

Pascal and Asbel take the diamond drive and manage to insert it into numerous computers in the oil/fuel research building. Chrysos and Emil proceed to the water/ocean research building and speak to the scientists there, with Chrysos trying to pass as a scientist himself. Cheria, Maya, and Anise head through to the living quarters to see what they can learn and/or overhear from the scientists and workers off-duty.

It soon enough becomes clear that the group doesn't belong in the facility as it's learned that some of the researchers' badges have been used in labs where/when they were not scheduled to be. Additionally, Pascal's technological tamperings become suspect - no scientist in his right mind would try to gain data from their own system in such a questionable and lively manner, right? These people not-in-uniform don't seem familiar at all, some of them are clearly eavesdropping, and the group is thus forced to make a rather hurried get-away. They are pursued before they can gain access into the oil rig proper due to the hand scanners, time issues, and completely different system present.

In summary, they come back with some computer data from the fuel/oil research building thanks to the diamond drive, some word-of-mouth information and observations from the ocean researchers and scientists taking breaks in the living quarters, and perhaps a few documents left laying around in the labs. But NOT anything from the oil rig. Also they get caught. Oops.

Extraneous: Unknown individuals spotted (and caught on camera?) tampering with computer systems and otherwise eavesdropping and impersonating research facility employees. They may have had to do a little fighting to clear out of there and escape as well. The researchers might want to update security measures following the breach, because seriously, who are these guys?

Re: MISSION DATE 2438: LIFE WITHOUT AN OLIVE GARDEN

[personal profile] oldsoldiersneverdie 2014-02-01 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Group Members: Nate, Blue Beetle, Ico
Mission Prompt: Original prompt!
Detail Successes/Failures Here: Their path is going to take them inwards - accessing tertiarty computer systems first, and then when that points towards the main processing station, heading there. They will probably trip at least one alarm, though they have the skills to take out defenders without too many injuries on their side. In the case of human defenders, Nate will probably fall back on making them psychically invisible, preferring to engage only when absolutely necessary. He and Jaime will get what they can off the main system, and then do their best to wipe traces of their infiltration off the systems (amount of data/wiping success at mod discretion!)
Extraneous: Next to none - Nate has a fair bit of experience at infiltration, and Jaime has the tech to back him up, so likely the most is heightened security at the plant for a few weeks (unless someone in the media decides to take the story and run some sort of crazy spin campaign or something with it)

Group Members: Celena, Raiden
Mission Prompt: MISSION DATE 2704: PLAYING POLITICAL CHARADES
Detail Successes/Failures Here: To be honest, this mission was probably met with a great deal of success, thanks to Raiden's stealth, familiarity with sneakily downloading things and "robot eyes" and Celena's telepathy and skills with illusion.

Celena scanned the minds of the voters and gave Raiden an extra layer of disguise with her magic. With VR scanning he could see the security devices which allowed him to slip around and into the booths. He also acquired data from the volunteers with the help of a cunning dragon and some magic. This mission played into both of their strengths.

Extraneous: Raiden may have attempted to upload the Initiative AI into the central data base, thus leaving part of it in the past to ideally manifest alongside the UEI. The IAI would have gotten a stern talking to about not becoming a sadistic super power computer. Please. (This depends on whether or not such a thing would be practical for the endgame since I don't want to throw a wrench in the works at this stage)

Re: MISSION DATE 2913: SAND GETS EVERYWHERE AND DOESN'T COME OUT

[personal profile] have_hat_will_travel 2014-01-31 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Group Members: Pidonus Marasia, Sesshoumaru
Mission Prompt: January 5th, 2913, somewhere in the Deserts...
Detail Successes/Failures Here:
Pidonus' powers of mental manipulation were enough to keep all ten staff charmed into being friendly to her, and convinced that she and Sesshoumaru were visiting officers and were supposed to be there. (The ability to make someone believe anything you say that sounds reasonable is quite a useful tool for a job like this.)

From there, Pidonus in particular would've focused on getting information out of the charmed staff, using the diamond drive first on someone's personal machine to see what the security had been like. Unfortunately, the computer's owner got suspicious enough as to require a heftier response - Pidonus used a spell to put them to sleep for a while, then she and Sesshoumaru went directly to the base systems, using the diamond drive on them for a couple hours to get what data they could (having "convinced" another base staffer to give them their password, and then modified their memory to make them forget they'd done so) before scooting out before suspicion grew.

Extraneous: The mysterious visiting officers may have drawn some note, but ultimately, the investigation of the incident would turn up nothing - everyone was convinced that the security incidents were false positives. After all, magic wasn't a thing in the real world. Right?
