Hellooooo, Exsilium! Pretend this is a mod account, I needed a paid for a poll. SO THEN, two things!

One, we're changing up the way we do apps slightly. Previously we've started accepting people and allowing them to post to the intro log as soon as we can, but that has always given rise to questions like "but are you sure everyone's coming in in the same wave" and "but my app wasn't accepted until the 5th day, where the crap has my character been all this time". So we're tweaking things slightly!

Starting on Jan 1st, apps will be processed as usual, but no community acceptance will be given until Jan 8th. The newcomer log will be put up on Jan 8th as well, so people are free to tag in in a rush that's a little bit more true-to-IC.

This is an IC change, as well! Feel free to have characters wonder why the Transporter isn't spitting people out on the 1st, as usual.

And secondly, the poll! Our OOC comm becomes a pretty busy place after the 1st of every month, and it's easy to miss things. So what would you guys say to having all OOC intros placed on a single post meant for new players/characters to introduce themselves on? This post would be pinned to the top of the comm for the week of apps as well as mod plurked, so there'd be no fear of people not seeing your intro. We leave it up to you if you'd like to change it, or keep the system as is!

Uh wait what if apps fill up well before the 8th and everyone gets accepted (like the several months where apps filled up by the end of the 2nd)? Will they just have to sit on their hands for no reason on a week? Since I'm not really sure I understand the logic behind that.

The date being set at the 8th is actually less for when apps fill, and more for allowing the app team enough time to read over and process all of them. We're usually done with 50 apps by the 5th or 6th, but setting it at the 8th allows for unexpected rl surprises, as well as for people who were given revisions to get back to us. But if we do happen to finish early, we could definitely consider putting it up OOCly early, but having it ICly still be the 8th for consistency.

I mentioned this on plurk but I'm not sure if you saw it or if it got lost amongst other stuff, but I think an IC annoucement of some kind would be a good idea, either through the NPCs or DITR (or someone else! but having OOC discussion/consensus about that will save confusion), so that ICly characters at least know when the new arrivals are due. Otherwise it's gonna suck if you're apping in this round and none of the current roster are tagging the intro log because their characters wouldn't be there.

Yeah, we should be able to do something like that! I'll check around with our NPC players and see what we come up with, and turn to the DITR if not the former.

What about if Transports propose trying to turn it off, to stop more people being kidnapped from their worlds. Perhaps they succeed until the 8th, when perhaps one of the NPCs or some mystery persons turn it on again?

So like wrong journal completely but I have Raiden and Dante too if either of them are useful for coming up with an excuse for something.

Totally fine if not but both of them (ESPECIALLY Dante) are highly prone to breaking things.

Wouldn't be hard to find a reason for Dante to put his fist through the Transporter or something since he hates being here.
