Man Kanaya works night shifts with the transporter-maintenance NPCs, is he going to go in at some ungodly hour, because if that wouldn't fit what you're going for, the layout is flexible enough to work around, but if it would, she'd react

Karkat himselfRukacertain transports seriously and accepting onto herself the burden of immorality involved in a form of time travel that incurs erasures - however, that acceptance is a sword that only gets sharper the deeper you plunge it in. Are you erasing only the lives you deliberately changed as a part of your mission's parameters, or by purchasing a few items here and there, do you fork the timelines of everyone who ever entered that store? Or is every single mission one that generates a new world, annihilating the old one? She accepted long ago that missions are the only way out of this war, she can't turn around this train, at least not right away; so she has to do what she can to make sure the missions are going through purposefully, changing the world all at once instead of destroying two or three worlds as intermediate steps. Aside from reaping transports, the Initiative leaves other worlds alone, barring the doubts about what happens to Transports who go back (i.e. whether they are doomed or amnesiac zombies) - therefore, keeping those worlds, the people left behind, untouched by the United Earth is something to fight for at all costs, in Kanaya's view, erasures included in those costs. So if she were allowed to get going she could denounce his actions as those of a hypocrite and a thief. (She would be assuming that, like most Transports who publicly denounce missions and go on them anyway, he is going to New York to obtain Stuff and still suffers from a severely low "Money" attribute, particularly "Acceptable In The Past" money.) Recall the rejected line "lying and stealing are the only things humans can do"

he'd still give up on the whole endeavor (calling him out would make him feel guilty) but he wouldn't deny any of the accusations she made.
