Mission: Hit the Beach is so on guys

With AI’s announcement of the space shuttle’s completion, those PCs who’ve been working to get it back online since the crash in May have finally had their hard work pay off. As a consequence, the space shuttle is ready for its first flight outside of simulations, and the PCs are invited to be the ones taking it up past the Exosphere.

That’s right! It’s our first collective taste of space!

There’s room for 20 people on the unloaded space shuttle, with sitting room for around 12. (There are stand-up strap-in supports for people to buckle themselves into during takeoff, to help assist with the g-force pressure they experience.) If you’re interested in one of your PCs joining the maiden flight, please comment in the thread below. First dibs go to everyone with characters who were actively working on the shuttle since May onward (as it’s only logical)! With further interest, we’ll run a Random Number Generator early tomorrow morning for the final list of participants.

But this isn’t the best news. It’s just the beginning! Soon after the AI makes this announcement, the Transport/Initiative liaison will be announcing that the successful space flight opens up the possibility of reclaiming the long abandoned moon base, established back in the 2200s, due to the success of the mission to Black Rock to elect “Moony” as Mayor. The Initiative will need the right supplies, however, and so the Transports will be sent on a mission... to the late Cretaceous Times!

The mission will run from the 18th of July to the 24th of July!

The objective is to gather as much volcanic rock, as many iron deposits, and as much limestone and clay as they can. The Transports will be sent to a beachside wilderness with a few guarantees: a force-field dome similar to the one used back in November to keep Vanadi’s French Masquerade safe from accidental intrusion will keep the majority of curious dinosaurs out; ample supplies; ample alcohol; and for those desiring as much, bathing suits. Why? Because sure, it’s a gathering mission, but it’s also a week off to relax!

Trust them, they need it away from you as much as you need it away from everything else.

Ask any questions you have below in the Questions thread! Remember, this is a relaxation mission: so try to relax while shoving rock into burlap sacks!

Loki will be pulled along because it's a mandatory mission. He'll stake out a corner for himself to sulk and brood in and will take the form of a Medusaceratops because that joke writes itself. He will charge anyone who gets too close. Otherwise, ignore the truck-sized thing over there munching on plants. It is totally not a Norse God.

Raiden will be patrolling, gathering materials and hauling them about with his massive strength. He won't be going into the water because he's not sure what will happen to his chassis in that salty brine.

I'd say, maybe, 300lbs? Less than one might think, really! But he's probably capable of moving through water. He's more concerned about corrosive damage or something getting into his muscle fibers that shouldn't. He's not sure what would happen! He just knows what he's built for and it's not Cretaceous bodies of water.
