Hello everyone! I come to you with some casual information about our next, upcoming plot! This is going to be our first mission, so it's going to be an easy one while we throw everyone back in time for the first time. Missions will become increasingly difficult after this.
So that everyone knows, this is how things are gonna go down when we go on missions, here in the beginning:

✒ Time-travel in game will not be linear! Missions that characters are sent back on won't necessarily be in chronological order. One mission they may be in the Middle East fighting France during WWII, and in the next one they might be chilling in the Spanish-American War.
✒ Everyone in-game is going to be given era-appropriate clothing by the Initiative and sent back in time to perform a specific thing or complete a specific mission.
✒ Every character will be on this mission for 3 weeks in-game time as the mission is accomplished, essentially.
✒ An NPC (initiatesnpc), who will have their own backstory and icon (so you'll know which NPC you're interacting with when you're playing with that account) will be orchestrating the mission and will be your go-to "Major General" essentially!
✒ This means that for 3 weeks, the entire game is going to be in that era in time, on that mission!
✒ Players who are accepted during missions will be partnered up with an existing player in-game, who can help them fight and learn the ropes. (They're accepted in, they get the spiel from the lady in the Initiative Hold, and then she tosses them back in time where they interact with the Major General and get paired up!)
✒ There will be probably about TWO logs that go up for different events during the mission, but there may be more. With that in mind, network posts are also available to be made during missions! (Characters will have their netbooks on them while they are on their missions!)

NOW that that quick little missions-explanation run-down is … well, run-down, this is going to be our first mission: [ This is slated to begin in the beginning of April (2nd or 3rd), once I'm back from hiatus. ]

MESOPOTAMIA. Characters will be sent to Assyria, where they will be protecting an Assyrian town from the Romans coming in to take control of it. For the purpose of this first mission, they're going to be limited to protecting this town, but of course are free to explore Mesopotamia to their delight but.. they better come back. :|a;;

Obviously there will be plenty more details when the event is about to start, but I wanted to give you guys a chance to ask questions and give your feedback, ideas and input to us now, so we'll have it for the weeks to come while we're setting everything up!

As always, we welcome all of your ideas and input and questions and concerns and -- everything!! Hopefully this gives you guys a good idea of what's going on. :D

WELL THAT SUCKS CRAP UHHH well IN THEORY HE CAN HELP THEM IF HE WANTS WITHOUT MUCH REPERCUSSION since conflicts of interest are bound to happen and can create some pretty sweet CR but the Major General might try to lock him up if he gets unruleh :T;;

Jason will help with whatever. The more I think about it the more I think he would be against fighting Romans since they are basically his ancestors and he serves under the same Legion/Army that they are serving under.

|D But he also knows that the only way home is possibly to work with the Initiative people. So the best way as far as he can see would be compromise/parlay.

Of course, if he needs to convince the Romans that he is a son of Jupiter to get them to listen to him (ie call down some lighting) that might also be a plan.

Yeah, I think a diplomatic intervention would be the way to go for my RomanImperial. He knows no RL!Roman would believe a modest priest would be an emperor, of an alternate Rome no less, so Martin would pretend to be just some ImperialRoman peasant or something.

Honestly, he'd defer to Jason with the whole son of Jupiter. That'd work a lot better than LISTEN TO ME, EMPEROR MARTIN SEPTIM

At what point in time, roughly, is this mission set? Whose empire holds sway over Assyria currently?

They will be yoinked back essentially, once their mission is over! Though they'll probably still have a few rendezvous points during the plot to keep track of but not that will have a bearing on their return.

FOR NOW THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER to let you know that I got your question! Brette is going to be placed on our timeline-specific duties once we pick a more exact year, since, lol, Mesopotamia was around for a good ENORMOUS amount of years.

But yes. We are working on an exact year and we will get back to you on that once we've settled on one!

Due to the nature of his suit and his mask and since I'm pretty sure there's a couple other characters who need to keep their suits -- there's a few things I have in mind. Most prominently, they could be given a cloaking device to be worn while they are in the past that they could get from the Major General. It would be something simple like a band worn around the wrist that would make them appear as though they're wearing era-appropriate clothing and give them a generic face to the citizens in the past that they're working with and against, if that makes sense.

I have a few other ideas too if you're interested in them but those ones kind of lean more into silliness.
