PLOT SIGN-UPS: UEAI INVESTIGATORING
WELCOME TO UEAI INVESTIGATION.
Per this post, the chance to go on missions to start filling in the timeline gaps relating to the UE – the UEAI in particular – is now available. There are a number of locales you can select from and some information to use as prompts for your excursion – but please note, this IS NOT information the characters know beforehand! These time jumps are pretty blind ouside of date/location, so characters won’t know exactly what they’re getting into until they’re there!
This is a good time to mix up and get some interesting cr combinations going, or send some already well-working teams back to work! It’s up to you how many you want to work with at once, but we ask that there be no more than eight per location, especially since these are designed to be small, more sneaky-like jobs. Of course, sometimes it’s hard to be sneaky when you wind up in the middle of a war or killer party.
Your characters will be in control of how long they stay and how they gather the information. They will be given a diamond drive with an upload of AI that can be plugged in to computers and other such compatible electronics that you may find in order for it to begin downloading and deciphering the sequence of events that follow, which opens up more potential dates to tag. So each subsequent mission is prompted by the ones before them!
Those who sign up will receive their calls to get to the Transporter icly by Blue via their ic inboxes or it can be handwaved/oocly pinged if no inbox is available. You can choose when to go icly -- from now to January 23.
A post to collect what data and inventory of what damages may have been done (are YOU a bad enough dude to punch a president?) will go up and be linked here and those signed up will be pinged of its presence. ETA: Post is up and HERE.
Here’s how it will roll:
In this post, there will be a top-level comment to confirm signed-up teams. Use the rest of this post to plan/call out for partners, share powersets or other things you think might be useful for you! Let a rep from each agreed-upon team comment in the sign-ups, and you will be given the background information of a scenario you and your team will be going on! You won’t know what it is before you sign up, and remember, your characters won’t know at all until they get there!
You will also be given a list of potential findings that you can choose to succeed or fail in obtaining. Both failures AND successes will have a role in how things cascade later on, so don’t assume flawless victories is the way to go! But don’t assume they’re NOT, either.
These sign-ups will remain open up until the actual 23rd! Because we are a game that is all about backtagging. Our only request is at that point, you have a decision for what you succeed/fail to get in advance so we can advance.
BULLET POINT SUMMARY ACTION:
• There are a number of missions available to help AI fill in the timeline
• Characters will NOT know what they’re diving into until they get there, but PLAYERS will know in advance!
• Groups should be no larger than 8
• One rep from each group should sign up in the comment (LINK)
• Characters will be contacted icly to report for their missions, but players can determine what ic date to go/how long they spend on mission
• A post to collect what successes/failures groups make will go up as things get underway
If you have any further questions, please ask in the question thread below!
THANK YOU AND GEAR UP

MISSION DATE 2438: LIFE WITHOUT AN OLIVE GARDEN
You have landed in what seems to be a completely automated food factory that is preparing pre processed meals and shipping them out on a fleet of also computer controlled trucks. Everything seems to be running perfectly smoothly and you’ve gone unnoticed for the moment, but be careful not to trip any alarms. Security drones equipped with lasers and tasers will come running.
After the plague that swept large sections of the world in the 2330’s, portions of it shut themselves inside as much as possible to avoid contagion, setting up cities that were almost entirely automated. You’ve found yourself in the early days of one of them in South America. The streets are empty, people are working from home, but the computer systems they’ve set up to run things for them could be a perfect source of information. Maybe even the vanguard for the AI?
You won’t know until you go digging. Download as much information as you can, and don’t get too curious or stray too far. It’s only been a few years since the plague was at its peak and there’s a reason everyone’s inside.
POSSIBLE DATA-GATHERING TARGETS
• Something has to be running this factory. While several of the terminals around that the drones plug into to recharge won’t prove fruitful, heading a little further into the factory and plugging into the machines themselves will net you information on the factory’s automation and how much of it is run by the computers and how much by people working from home.
• If you’re feeling particularly daring, the central processor for the factory will be a motherlode of information. But it’s buried in the middle of storage and well guarded, so once you start heading that way be prepared for alarms and running.
• If you do trip alarms and get security drones sent your way, capturing one that isn’t all the way damaged and bringing it back could prove pretty useful.
• You can always try hitching a ride on one of the trucks and seeing if the house you land at has any computers worth plugging into! But watch out - individual houses could have their own security systems rigged up as well as the security drones that patrol the city, and they won’t take kindly to potential infection spreaders. And if you leave the sealed isolation of the trucks before you’re inside the sealed environment of a house, you risk your own health.
Soldier Blue will send you your target date to IC inboxes. If none is available, please consider the data sent as a handwaved action. You can choose when to ICly go, and report what outcomes you have once the Collection post is live!
If you have other questions, let me know!

So, yes, god. I don't know how to phrase that in any other way. Biology doesn't seem to have much to do with this either because these descendants, at least for Ico and all the other horned children after Ozuma, are not related by blood.

But yes he can go ahead and be immune.
Re: MISSION DATE 2438: LIFE WITHOUT AN OLIVE GARDEN
One quick question - what's security look like in terms of proportion of automated/drone defenses to warm bodies? Is everything remotely operated, or are there some people inside the plant as well?
