BLOOD FRENZY & YOU
This isn't a plot, precisely, so much as it is a small kind of irregular (very irregular) thing that Koltira has to deal with on occasion. As a death knight, he is constantly, always and forever in some baseline amount of pain; this pain ratchets up exponentially the longer he goes without a real, no foolin' battle. He essentially needs to cause straight-up agony to other people on a regular basis, otherwise he slips into a blood-seeking hysteria due to the intensity of the pain spasms wracking his body.
The blood frenzy has only happened twice before (in Koltira's year & a half of game time), and it can get ugly, so I feel a need to make a note about it if your character wishes to engage. If not, IGNORE AT WILL!
Basically, Koltira's been spending all his energy and resources keeping Seviilia in check. He hasn't had time to see to his own, ahem, needs, and then when you combine it with certain other emotional tolls he's recently gone through, well. A DEAD MAN ELF CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH.
What does this mean for you?
It might mean nothing! He's not going to issue a warning as he's done in the past; he's too far gone for that. But while he may stray near the more populated areas, he's not going to rampage through the underground or the aboveground city. He will be all over the wilderness, however.
What if my character encounters him?
If your character finds him in the forest and approaches, he will, without doubt, attack them. Keep in mind that he is both fairly powerful and a sadist. He will struggle to run away/hold himself back/etc., but the potential for ugliness is certainly there :'|
Can my character help him in any way?
His frenzy cannot be calmed through any method but the direct and obvious suffering of another person. Not a summoned construct. Not a friendly duel. There has to be begging, moaning, and screaming involved. I know, it's really gross. That's why I'm warning you now!
If he starts in on your character, he will absolutely try to stop himself, but injuries may occur if your fella/lady/etc encounters him and does not immediately get the fuck outta there.
Anyhow, thems the details. If you want to kung fu fight, we can kung fu fight (but not to the death, preferably). If you want severe emotional trauma, we can do that too. If you want failed and sad attempts to pacify him that will end in gouges and huge guilt on his part later, ALSO GOOD.
He will be in frenzy for at least five days, so if you want to warn the village about a monster in the woods etc, THAT IS ALSO FINE.
And if you want no part in this grossness whatsoever, that, too, is fine X)
