I'm Caitlin, and I used to be here until starting grad school ate my face, but now I'm back C: Returning along with me is one Katniss Everdeen, two-time survivor of the Hunger Games and brat-with-the-bow-and-arrows extraordinaire! i think my reactions essentially went, APPALL > HORROR > MORE APPALL > ANGUISH > SOB SOB SOB > NO THIS ISN'T HAPPENING > ROCKING ON THE FLOOR IN AGONY > WHY IS EVERYONE I LOVE DEAD > WOW THAT WAS GRUESOME > WOW THAT WAS ALSO GRUESOME > HOLY SHIT I WONDER HOW THEY'RE GONNA DO THAT IN THE MOVIE > OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY KILLED THAT PERSON > I KNEW IT WAS YOU THE WHOLE TIME YOU BITCH > sobs inconsolably until 4am

so yeah i super enjoyed it. i really appreciated the bittersweet epilogue; i like that Katniss didn't get a traditionally happy ending, it made everything a lot more believable and realistic, and i felt like she really stayed true to her character all the way through to the end, which is so uncommon in her type. the closing line was just A+ brilliant.

LMAO, those were all my reactions, I remember it all pretty well :') But I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I also loved the epilogue and the lack of a Hollywood Happy Ending... and its portrayal of recovery as a process that's always going, and not something magical that happens and resolves itself overnight. And, yes, SPEWS FEELINGS about this series forever, I probably could legitimately
