Hey, Exsilium!

Just a quick announcement of a new job opportunity coming your way, which effectively brings with it a new mode of transportation around the city. I'm aware Exsilium pretttty much just bit the dust and is undergoing a lot of recovery, so don't worry, it's nothing fancy... but I would love for it to be eventually! I'm talking about a new taxi cab service, courtesy of Asami Sato, because let's face it: buses run on too tight of a schedule and people have places to be and things to haul.

So first thing's first: for now, Asami will be available to drive people around on her motorcycle as a service. Feel free to hit up her IC Inbox for CR-building purposes down that avenue! In addition, there is a handful of totally rad pedicabs for which Asami is hiring drivers. Not as cool or fast as driving a car, but we have limitations!

I would love to see this progress, though, so engineers and mechanics: when the IC post about this goes up (shortly), your help will be summoned.

For those interested in earning some extra cash, Asami is hiring drivers ages fourteen and over—and that applies to if and when motor vehicles become a part of this as well. A percentage will go back to Asami so that she can pay engineers and mechanics to help refurbish a couple vehicles... so tip your drivers. Later on, if motor vehicles become a thing, Asami will totally provide driving lessons. Aww yis.

Also looking for investors HAHA because I like nitty-gritty. BUT YEAH so Asami has been saving up in the event of a business venture. If you've ever seen an episode of Shark Tank (which all of you should because that show is the best ever), it'll work like that; if you invest, you get a percentage back... etc., that can get complicated, we don't all have that much free time so I'm open to both handwaving and roleplaying things like negotiations and such. (Anyhow, at the end of the day Asami needs to own at least 51% of the company, so probably like three investors max... or something idek.)

I think I might've had more to say, but I'm forgetting. So if you're interested in getting in on this operation, let me know! Those of you who have threaded with me before know I can either be really on top of things or bogged down by RL for days at a time, so I'm pretty conscientious of everyone else's schedules and totally okay with both roleplaying and handwaving. Hopefully more roleplaying though! ;) Like I said, this is something small that I would love to see grow, so let's do it to it.

ETA 2 The network post is actually happening a little later until a few more things are squared away! I received awesome feedback from Jansen that makes the situation a little more complex, but definitely all the better. But if anyone wants to weigh in or get involved in anything pertaining to a potential taxi/improved transportation service, I invite you all for a discussion on it here!

HEY tony's been working on something like this re: making small vehicles (and improving the bus system but hey) WANNA BE PARTNERS? He can supply and help maintenance, you can do all the driving organization.

no no i've been just chatting about it on plurk and it's on tony's project pages and stuff i haven't posted to the ooc comms because i figured i'd just post there whenever it was done since tony wasn't really going to go looking for people to help just yet. honestly he was doing it with the transports more than anything.

Alright! Well hey, my IC post is only handwritten so far, so I have a lot of flexibility. OOCly and ICly this is still in a planning stage, after all. In any case I sincerely apologize, because I should have seen those plurks; I knew that Tony was working on mechanical aspects, but I completely missed the plan on improving the bus system. I have a feeling you've put a lot of work into your planning, so trust me, I am sufficiently embarrassed!

I do like the idea of a partnership, and what you said earlier re: the organization/supply division is what immediately comes to mind.

Alternatively, Asami doesn't have a lot of experience owning a business. She was thrust into the situation prematurely, and she's certainly never started one on her own, let alone in a wartime city with civil strife like Exsilium. I'm also open to the idea of competition; and by competition, I mean Asami wheels out with a bunch of pedicabs, has plans to expand but also doesn't have connections or doesn't know the right way to go about executing them, and Tony can roll in and show her how it's done.

woah man dude srsly no need to be embarrassed. it's a chat that back be back-dated and logged if we want to, handwaved if we don't, I just meant that if you had a lot on your plate we didn't have to thread it out, but i'd like do if you do.

honestly i've been mostly keeping things to myself. tony got his business going mostly by talking and building rapport with the exiles over the last year, so i've been able to get things rolling without a lot of transport help. as such a lot of it's just been me quietly doing things - no harm. I'm super pleased you like the partnership idea though, and excited to see what comes of it.

Tony's good at business stuff when he feels like it. He lets Pepper handle SI/CM because she seems to like all the boring parts, but he does know how to build and run one on his own. But really either way - if you want to do the like, 'lemonade stand level, hey kid, c'mere, lemme show you how it's done' path with it, that'd be fine, because tony would totally get in on something with motorcycles and not even care about the taxi type part of it. I don't have anything concrete though - maybe that happens and then he gets a breakthrough on the buses with her routes and shit and then she expands something else with his manufacturing - idk.

but it could be beautiful 8D

All of these are good ideas, and I'm seeing a lot of them... so I will post a nice little note somewhere on this post that says the idea is currently being revised while also inviting others to weigh in. But yeah, I'll leave it because it'll be good for everyone to know that something like this is under way and could be coming to fruition..!

Oooh, this would definitely be interesting to Saber. She has a Riding skill that allows her to drive just about anything once she gets in the seat and starts the engine and drive them as if she's been doing it her whole life. Definitely signing her up as a Driver!
