Hi Exsilium! 8D My name is Dream and I bring to you Boromir Ned Stark Odysseus that guy who keeps dying RICHARD SHARPE from this early-90s Napoleonic war series named, creatively, Sharpe. He's fought in every single important battle (except Waterloo, because he's taken from before it) during the wars and what do you mean, he's not in the history books? Pfffft, historians.

Anyway, my aim is liftsleeves and my plurk is evocatives, so add me and talk to me if you so wish. Especially if you know this canon because man I need people to squee to about how perfect Teresa Moreno is.

Also, apparently Sharpe is rooming with a Raven Darkholme. Hoo boy. 8D

OH and I nearly forgot. I'll intro him during like, next week or something, because I have to rush to write a couple of things.

I'm a tremendous military history nerd, and I found sharpe through comparisons of Sharpe to Gaunt's ghosts, a series by the same author as the guy what wrote Priad here. Its very much like Sharpe in space with Lasers! To the point where the author made a joke about it in one of the short story ombibuses with a song called "over the warp and far away". Eventually he went a different narrative path but....

YEAH I WATCHED THE TV SHOW and read all the books and they were both pretty great. I love that cornwell actually changed his writing of the Sharpe books to take into account Bean's portrayal of him in the TV show.

I am actually a huge Regency era nerd, especially in how the military aspects has seeped into the culture of England. The soldiers, the working-classes during the time, the class conflicts... (So no, not really Jane Austen for me, aha.) I found Sharpe through my obsession with Sean Bean and it's really the best thing ever. Cornwell made Sharpe go into Yorkshire and gain an accent so I'm just all dsfgfsdfg about it. 8DDDD Sharpe in space with lasers sounds amazing, though.

GIVE ME A PATRICK HARPER see I am very one-track-mind about this. /shakes you gently
