I do think bi-monthly apps cause a huge explosion of intros, usually right before/during an event, which makes it difficult to prioritize welcoming new players (through responding to their intros) over participating in events, at least for me. It's happened a few times now where there's a flood of intros right as an event is happening or right before one, and I can't speak for everyone else, but it does get kind of overwhelming for me personally.
I've been in games with monthly app cycles, and while there are more intros that point of the month, those explosions of intros happen less often. I can see the advantages and disadvantages of both decisions.
Either way, I do think that perhaps it might help if events were scheduled in a way where they aren't occurring right before an app acceptance round or during an acceptance round, and bi-monthly apps probably make this sort of scheduling trickier. :|a I can't say for sure though, of course. It just seems that it might be the case.
