He's actually pretty good with hand to hand, it was his best...subject?? in titan killing training, but there wasn't a lot of emphasis on it because lbr killing titans by punching them isn't a thing that usually happens (unless you're eren.) But he's not a master by any means, so once she proves she can best him he'll be more than willing to do it over and over again to try and figure out how. His self preservation instincts are practically nonexistant. (The hope of humanity, ladies and gentlemen.)
don't worry he always gets back up again. It's like having a punching bag that slowly learns to punch back more efficiently!
