There are plenty of ways that can go down and we'll gladly elaborate more for everyone once we have a designated group of mutineers and know exactly what powers we'll be working with. Abby and I have briefly touched on this before in other spots, but the mutineers will be putting up things like barriers, wards, patrol groups, etc. It's easy enough to even set someone outside the observatory to say that it's on lock down to prevent the mutineers from attacking it and/or ask for defensive assistance (which could unintentionally and temporarily result in some hero vs hero conflict aww yeah). Obviously we love hearing ideas from you guys as to what you think might be an effective deterrent, but we are putting a lot of thought into how to give everyone IC reasons for not crashing through on day 1!
(Also it is perfectly fine for one or two people to feel something's off, because something is, but until the network is up and running, communication will be sparse. Finding friends, assembling, and talking it all out will likely take time in the lightless, door-locked, gravity-less mess. A small delay, but one nonetheless!)
Lastly: no. The mutineers are doing this as nonviolently as possible, and they have no interest in holding the entire base captive or running off back to earth; all they want is for the transports to listen to them and feel pressured to step up into positions of leadership so that they're on equal footing with the Initiative, rather than under it. They know they've got no excuses, and they certainly don't need a getaway car ship.
never be sorry!
