Asbel's not truly taking sides here. He understands people's frustrations, but he also sympathizes with the difficult place the Initiative is in right now. Overall he thinks a mutiny's a bad idea because it destroys trust and it's actually making things more difficult for the people who're supposed to be benefiting from it. And he doesn't feel it's what they need to be focusing on right now, either.

Even so, if he runs into one of the mutineers and they need patching up or are about to get themselves killed, he will help them.

During events he will most likely spend his time trying to address problems as they crop up among the transports to make sure his friends and whomever else he meets stay safe.
