Although I do want to mention that they don't have to pick up Sophie specifically so much as just make sure she's WITH SOME RESCUER(S) OR OTHER and heading out of there (since I'm not sure what Joly plans/wants to do, and would like to leave that open for her to decide). As for the ring, I suspect it's shoved in a box or something somewhere with the confiscated weapons (if I read right??) so it should just require finding the appropriate one and doing some digging (like looking for a prize at the bottom of a box of cereal).
And Asbel would be fine with picking up the more combative side of things if it comes to that (and he definitely doesn't know all the secret ins and outs of the place so yes, gunner + quick retreat navigator sounds wonderful.)
