Edgeworth is going to ask to have Franziska assigned to the case, because he wants to see how good she is but still trusts her enough to do a good job. (And what he considers a 'good job' is a guilty verdict...welp.)
That being said, he'll be mostly free and trying to gather information about everything related to the trial during the week -- he'll be biased towards helping Franziska, as a fellow prosecutor, but he might try and nose about and find out what the defense is up to, as well (because, come on, Ms. Fey, weren't they just working together)?
I am happy to have him annoy anyone related to the trial and get all in their business, although he's going to be more subdued (but a lot angrier!) during the trial itself because... anniversary of his father's murder and all.
