But, yeah, just to throw a basic distinction out there, the biggest difference between PTSD and acute stress disorder is the timing of it. Acute stress disorder diagnosis occurs within the first month of exposure to a traumatic event, whereas someone cannot be diagnosed with PTSD unless the symptoms have persisted for 30 days or longer, in a nutshell. I can explain this in more detail, though, if you'd like!
